It’s never too early for avocado, so we’re tossing an alligator pear into this fruity breakfast smoothie.

Avocados add creamy texture, balance flavor, and provide a boost of nutrients like pantothenic acid, fiber, folate, potassium, and vitamins B6, C, E and K. Plus, they’re loaded with monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which increase our absorption of fat-soluble nutrients and help us stay full longer.

This nutritious Papaya Mango Avocado Smoothie makes for a quick and portable breakfast that can easily be thrown together half asleep in the A.M. or blended in advance and stored in the freezer.

Ingredients & Method (Yield: 2 12-ounce smoothies)

  • 1 cup fresh papaya, cubed
  • 1 cup fresh mango, cubed
  • 1 medium-sized avocado
  • 1 tbsp agave nectar
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds (optional)

Place the papaya, mango, avocado, agave, almond milk, lemon juice, ice, and chia seeds into a blender. Purée until smooth.
