Five Low Cal & Sugar-Free Latin Drink Recipes

Latin cocktails are very much a part of the American mixology scene and we can’t wait to offer some really healthy versions your modern family can enjoy.
In the next few weeks, you’ll find sugar-free, low-fat and low-calorie recipes for Mojito, Piña Colada, Sangria, Caipriniha and Pisco Sour—all under 250 calories! And considering the average caloric intake of each of these range from 500-900 calories, if you stick to one drink every four hours, your waistline will thank you.
The Mojito will kick off our mid-Summer cocktail menu. If you’re not in Miami to enjoy this refreshing beverage, the bright flavors of lime and mint will definitely take you there.
#1. Angie’s No Guilt Mojito
Ingredients
- 6 slices lime
- 2 Tablespoons torn mint leaves
- 2 oz white rum
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons lime juice
- 1 Tablespoon agave nectar
- 4 oz club soda
- Fresh mint sprig (optional)
- Lime wedge (optional)
Instructions
Fill a martini shaker with 1 cup ice. Add lime wedges, lime juice, and mint. Muddle lime and mint with a pestle or a long spoon until well-bruised and fragrant. Combine agave, rum, and club soda. Add to muddled mixture; stir until mixture is well-chilled. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice; garnish with mint and lime, if desired.
